Help people heat homes! Our demonstration at the European Parliament
Today our activists and partners demonstrated in front of the European Parliament in Brussels, calling on Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) to help people heat homes.
The action comes ahead of the EU Parliament’s Industry, Research and Energy Committee’s vote on the revised text of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), happening on January 23rd. When adopting that text, and in the next phases of the negotiations, MEPs can make sure that banks play a key role in speeding up the renovation wave of buildings across Europe by providing their customers with affordable financing solutions for energy home renovation.
To reaffirm this commitment, we delivered today an open letter to MEPs, signed by 36 experts and NGOs, highlighting how the Parliament and the other EU institutions can ensure that banks do their part for home renovation. Representing the EU Parliament, Pierre Larrouturou, Radan Kanev, Sean Kelly and Martin Hojsík met the activists.
We are calling our supporters to share the open letter with as many MEPs as possible. Spread the word and support us in amplifying this message!
